The kel-tec slim 9mm single stack
« on: October 06, 2010, 05:12:53 AM »
I recently ran into an old aquaintance of mine and he asked if I ever concealed carry.  I told him no because I don't and the main reason for that is because I never found something that I liked and felt good carrying.  He then proceeded to pull out his kel-tec from inside his waistband to show me his.  I was really surprised at how small and comfortable that gun was.  It was ugly as heck, but he said it's reliable and he doesn't even notice it anymore when he's carrying it.  I'd considering buying one, but it's tough to find reviews on this gun.  The p-11 gets good reviews, but I don't want a wide double stack, and I'd prefer a slimmer gun if I was going to carry it.  I really like how you can get the belt clip for it and don't really need a holster.

Does anyone else have one of these?  If so what do you think of it?

I ordered a PF9 when they first became available. Mine has been 100% reliable with all ammo I've tried, carries well, and reasonably accurate. I carry it frequently. The recoil is a bit brisk, as you would expect in a pistol of that caliber and weight. Based on my experience I'd recommend it to anyone.

As every one so far has said it's great... I carry mine all the time, sometimes I forget I have it with me, it's that light. never a problem , will shoot anything I feed it.

Mine is with me 24 / 7. 100% reliable. with the rights pants...as in pocket not noticeable or in the waistline..

The LimbSaver pullover the best out there and used a P3AT clip as it lowers it in the pants another " + !

DeSantis pocket holster is perfect for the crimson too ! Just cut the inner stictching for a perfect fit !

And finally added Kahr Pinky extension's. Now the grip is even better !

I had trouble making mine function with dependability until a friend showed me that if you held it like a gorilla, it shoots everything every time.

Yep. That's a fact jcn59! An auto loader doesn't respond well to the limp wrist. A small, light, pistol is even less forgiving. You can often get away with a less than perfect grip on a full size pistol. My grip is the same regardless of the size of the pistol, so no problems here. It's really not about how tightly you grip the pistol, it's more about keeping your wrist locked. It's good to learn the proper grip and practice it until it becomes second nature. It eliminated a lot of problems. Shoot well!

I have carried my PF9 24/7 since I bought it; two years ago.  As said, it does anything asked of it, it's easy to carry, flat and light.  Mine is also more accurate than I expected, and now wears a Crimson Trace also.  It is a very good buy for a carry pistol.  44 Man

I carry mine mostly as well, especially in the summer. I have over 1000 rds with two glitches. First was a FTF that was my fault - I didn't let the slide slam shut, I lowered it. Second was my nephew (13) limp wristing. The gun has been awesome. Khar ext. really made the grip nice.

I like my single stack 9,it is very dependable with no function problems at all. The only delta with it is mussel blast is distracting ,so be aware of the blast in the face. I drop it in my front pocket and it is out of sight. I have a clip but I do not use it,if you do clip it in your pocket it has the grip out in plain sight. It is a fine little pistol. 26-t

I love mine. the grip extention now comes free as an extra when you buy a new PF-9. Finding reviews is as easy as a simple on line search for PF-9 reviews. 95% rate the PF-9 as an awesome concealed carry firearm, very accurate, very dependable and very easy to carry and conceal. The other 5% are those that would criticize anything not costing a fortune and pretty. As a tactical handgun I think it's as sharp looking as most and more so than many. I got mine in OD Green with the Matte Blue Slide and just today picked up an extra magazine for it. It has reached well beyond my expectations. I highly recomend one for concealed carry.
