Yep.  The bill in question is H.R.4646.   Introduced by Representative Chaka Fattah from Pennsylvania, and it has no other backers aside from him.

Everybody slept through 2008, except people like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Acorn, Obama's string puller George Soros and THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS. They  were all very busy setting us up for a fall......into Socialism!!


Early voting starts a week from Saturday, on the 16th. I will be one of the first ones there to vote against all of the above.

 Let's face it, that is a natural mistake though..since there's not a dime's worth of difference between Hitlery or Nazi..

  So the Dems are in favor of it..they would like to pass the transaction tax...but we know the Dems would never forego the regular income tax. Many conservatives have been pressing for a "flat tax", which would truly replace the "income tax" and provide much more funds than any transaction tax ..but the Dems remained 'stone deaf'.
  No way a transaction tax would replace the funds generated by our present income tax...if you believe that you are drinking the Democrat's Kool-aid !

IRONGLOW. Most of my family is dem, always has been. Although I've only voted for ONE dem in well over 30+ years I've been registered as a dem til this year, yes I know, and I'm ashamed of it. The dem party left me MANY years ago and now represents pure evil. I've been hearing all my life about how bad things would be if we elected a Republican President and I've been around long enough to have lived through quite a few Presidents.  The best years I've experienced have been when we've had Republican Presidents and even better when the Congress was controlled by Republicans.  And I was a blue collar union guy my whole career.

Some people forget who it was that started hollering about how bad the economy was under Bush, when the unemployment rate was 4.5-5% and things were moving right along.  That's right--it was big mouth Obama and his Cohorts, Nancy and Harry and company in the Congress.  Every adjustment the Republicans attempted, to ward off the problems that were looming, the Dumocrats stifled.  Obama just kept up his, "Worst economy since the Depression."  That and the the threat to redistribute the wealth and tax the crap out of job producers.  It became a self fulfilling prophesy.  Be careful what you vote for.

I've never voted for a Dumocrat--even when they weren't the socialists and communists that they are today and I never will.  The Republicans obviously aren't perfect--no one is, but there is a world of difference between the parties; in spite of how some people try to equate them...the difference between benign and malignant.

    Have I gotta take you to the history woodshed again ? The great depression was not a result of Republican policies. Nearly every administration..right & left have left office with a mild or more severe recession (normal economic vicissitudes) and in most cases, within a few months it resolves itself. IT resolves itself if govt does not insert itself into the situation in a foolhardy way..spending money instead of reducing taxes.
  You speak of the 'great depression'..which was a creature of Democrat design. Things did start to slip into recession under H. Hoover who was no great shakes of a pres, but he did try to initiate several actions to control the rate of recession...which the Democrat congress, in an effort to gaiin more power..dutifully shot down every effort. The recession turned into a depression under Roosevelt. FDR was elected in 1932 and kept the depression alive for 10 years...until 1942, when WW2 finally pulled us out.
     The same happened after the Derms took congress in 2006. Alert minds on both sides of the aisle saw the slowdown coming. The administration tried to enact measures to correct the slippage, but as in 1932 the Dems smelled 'blood in the water'..so they rejected all the efforts by the adfministration.
  This economic crisis started in the home loan industry, namely FannieMae and FreddieMac (Chris Dodd and Barney Frank in charge).
   Perhaps you recall Barney saying that FannyMae and FreddieMac were on great footing for years to come.
   
       Something tells me that Ole Barney wasn't watching FannieMae nor FreddieMac...but may instead have been watching some Freddie's fanny !

  In 1932 and 2008 the Dems purposely crashed the economy...so they must learn, once Humpty-Dumpty falls, it is indeed hard to put the pieces together agaiun !

 Lately the Republicans have been nothing more than right wing Democrats. The old parties will learn to be constitutional..or lose the 'whole bal of wax'.

The economic problems started in the home loan business, most directly with FannieMae & FreddieMac.. Those two entities should have been shut down long ago, in fact they should never have been started.
  The great problems started because the socialists in the Clinton administration thought everybody should have their own home, EVEN IF THEY COULD IN NO WAY AFFORD ONE !!
  Only common sense would tell someone that they should not buy a home costing $300,000 when they are making only $2500 per month.
  Somebody on welfare all their lives should not even think of owning their own home..and for obvious reasons.
   There should be a substantial down payment (historically 20%) so a person has some equity involved and would not be so inclined to walk away when it gets a little tough.

Why didn't anyone think there was a huge conflict of interest concerning Barney Frank and Fannie Mae,(ie, Herb Moses)
I guess no one wanted to talk about it because it involved homosexuality. I don't know. What you said about the Dems "suicidal" policies is all right on the money. The voters were dumb enough to vote to approve those taxes, bet they were all sold with  "It's for the kids they need better schools" 
Washing has a income tax on the ballot that "only" taxes the rich. starts at 100,000 per yr income   3 to 5 it passes and in 5 years everyone will be paying income tax.
