.223 Ultra Varmint

i got this rifle for CHRISTmas...brand new.

so far I've:

done a trigger job

added the spacer to the extractor

completed a modification to the fore end that enables it to operate freely but yet is very secure.

i found on close inspection, that the fore end hole was not centered with the barrel lug causing pressure on the pivot so  i machined a bushing and drilled an offset hole; it relieved the pressure allowing free operation of the breaking and closing action. i substituted a button head, Allen head, stainless steel screw in place of the tapered Phillips.

weather and nat'l forest conditions permitting, I'll check range performance one day next week.
