I just bought a new 357 Mag rifle (Illion, NY manufacture) and it is an SB1 Cast iron frame. Some folks put their 357 barrels on SB2 (CF rifle) frames when they upgrade to 357 Max, because they want to MAX load them.

Now that I posted the above I can try and actually answer your question. Yes, the 357 Mag barrel will work on a 12 gauge frame, if it is NOT a 12 ga. USH Frame, assuming you can get it to lock up properly.
