I was bow hunting last Sat. morning for deer. That is when I see the most squirrels. I did see a solid black squirrel chasing a grey around a tree, that was pretty cool (For southern Indiana) It looks like the dry weather is allowing the acorns to fall like rain. Both the deer and squirrels are feeding on them. I saw about 5 tree rats and 8 deer. The wind was calm and the air was cool. I couldn't of asked for a better day. I harvested one of the does and had it checked in and skinned out by 1:30 pm. The back straps were on the grill monday after work. ;)

what a blessing!

Unfortunately work has me tied to a desk most days and traveling when I'm not. I hope to take some leave next month for the firearms season. Who knows, maybe I'll get bored and shoot a few squirrels with the Maxi. :o

Congrats on the doe. I would do anything to get out, let alone shoot a deer.

Thanks, Dinny

Where I am hunting the nuts have mostly dropped and the tree rats are on the ground everywhere. Every time they move in the dry leaves I try to turn my head slowly, cause it may be a deer. My buddy just harvested a 10pt 150-160 class buck last week. By the way Fort Knox was/is caught on fire in a training area by a tracer so I heard... the smoke has filled new albany and clarksville on Sat. This dry weather and wind makes these fires dangerous. keep your spirits up..your hunting time is coming...

I would think your maxi shot from a tree stand would work out great on the critters. I almost did the mgm barrel then I changed my mind. Hope yours works out for you.

appreciate your service
