Finally
« on: October 08, 2010, 04:47:58 AM »
It took just about a month, but I finally came up with a bullet, and load my Ruger Black hawk 45 colt and I could agree on, I experimented with 3 different powders, settled on W-231 in a mid-range Ruger load. Two molds settled on a Lyman 452424, played with the size a little, .452 seems to be where I need to be. And the alloy mix I use for my 45 ACP loads, seems right on for the speed I am pushing them. I lubed them with White Label BAC-special blend.
It’s a great feeling when everything finally comes together.

Congrats.  8)  I'm hoping to do a lot more lead development next year.  I haven't started molding yet though, so I'm only loading bevel base inexpensive bullets for plinking.  I found a good one that works well for these loads.
