Encore - different forends/barrels for different years?
« on: December 07, 2003, 05:19:54 PM »
Hi Guys,
Got a question.  I have a new stainless encore frame and purchased a 7mm-08 blued w/walnut stock barrel to put on it.  Problem is the 7mm08 barrel won't work with the black synthetic forend I got with the frame and the walnut forend won't work with the stainless frame.  Am I doin' somethin' wrong here or are there just some Contender barrel/frame combinations that don't work.  Thanks.

Encore - different forends/barrels for diff

First off, the Encore and Contender are two different firearms from Thompson Center Arms.  The forends have nothing to do with which frame you have as long as they are for the Encore and not the Contender.  The forend screws directly into the barrel with two screws, after the barrel is installed into the frame.  The forend is designed to retain the pin that holds the barrel to the frame in place.  Hope this helps, first check and make sure you have the right forend for you Encore.

D'oh!  Meant to only say encore in the first  post.  It is an encore frame, walnut encore forend and an encore barrel.  It's just that I own both pistols, was tired - slip of the tongue.
