New Bug Out Gun...maybe

Here's a little 20 Gauge 870 Magnun Express I picked up for $177.00 out the door.  It's a youth model with a 21" barrel and it takes RemChokes.  Remington had the adult buttstocks on clearance for $14.00.  It was drilled for a swivel stud so I dug through my parts box and found one.  Of course then I needed a forward swivel.  The parts box again yielded a forward swivel from a 760 Remington.  I had to drill and tap the hole in the magazine cap to take a 1/4-28 bolt and I installed it using red Loc-tite.  I may strip and refinish the wood to make it match better or I may just leave it.

My Bug out  and everything shotgun is the exact make and modle .. I sugest getting the forcing cone lenghtend it dose wonders for the pattern.

me and my dad have the exact same gun (except newer) I left the youth stock on mine but my dad put the adult stock on his I absoultly love mine it has become my go to shotgun. Great bug out gun. I orginally got it for my son (hes 2) but liked it so much i'm gonna buy another one for him.

Nice looking shotgun Swampman! I like the leather sling also, gives it character. Maybe add a tru-glo sight to it and you'll be all set.  ;)

I got one like it with the adult stock and Rifle sighted slug bbl. I had the BBL. threaded for rem chokes . Got mine in the box at the gun show not new but nice. Paid about the same for the gun with a 28 in bbl. then added the slug bbl ( already had ). I call mine the 30 cal. carbine of shotguns  ;D. light and easy to tote.
BTW a camo shotgun is a turkey gun not a tac.  ;)

Very good point

And I agree, there is only one exception.  When you want a tactical weapon to operate like a tactical weapon.   ;D

Thats a good all around gun/round Swampman! I picked up a youth model H&R 20 gauge for my son that IMO would be a great survival gun.

Yeah, hard to beat the Remmy 870. My son has one in 20 gauge. Most pump shotguns would make a good SHTF weapon. Personally I think I'd have more faith in a pump or singleshot, than I would in a semiauto. When things are going to hell, simple is better IMO.
