« on: October 11, 2010, 04:16:01 AM »
Anyone shooting the 6.5x284 in an Encore?

What barrel length, bullet weight, velocities?

Thx

Not in an Encore, but in MOA's and XP's.
With 140 grain bullets you will get from 2600-2750 fps with barrel lengths from 15-18 inches.
You can add about 100 fps if you are shooting the 130 Berger.
Different barrels will shoot faster or slower, and the accuracy nodes/harmonics will be different in each barrel, so your most accurate load may or may not be your fastest or max load.

Forgot to mention that H-4350 is my hands down favorite for the 6.5-284.
I use Fed 210M primers and Lapua brass.
