The cocking effort on the M-99 is actually very smooth and easy. It's a lot easier to cock than my M-34 and M-350 RWS. The M-21 also is easy to cock. The cocking lever has an ingenious sliding lever that you can slide out, (making it longer) if you need more leverage. I just done it a few times playing with it. Now, I just use the lever in "normal" position.
Soon as I can, I'll post some pictures of them both on here. I was actually "stunned" by how good these two rifles look, the wood and the quality. Now, that not just my opinion, every one who has seen them, has said the same thing. I love the way the M-99 looks, it's stock looks like dark, dark cherry, and the M-21 looks honey colored, good figured maple like you see on a good fiddle or guitar wood. Maybe, it won't be long, I'll have some pics of them to post. I'll have to find out how to post pictures on here, too.
The only one I have scoped is the M-21 and I only had a cheap Daisy ($32.00), if I remember right, to put on it. I am thinking of getting one of those BSA scopes your future SIL is using. (Son in Law). You said he was having great luck with his. I have got to hold off for a while on buying these expensive scopes like Burris, just going to try to get by, you know, a country boy can survive. Christmas is coming up, and I gotta buy the wife some goodies for Christmas. She is some kind of good woman, never complains about me and my gun hobbies. Matter of fact, she was going to order me one of the new S & W 500's, and I told her no. I have plenty of powerful pistols, all the power I can handle. I have them in all the big calibers in Encores and all the T/C Contender frames can handle too.
Well, done wrote a book. This is a great forum on here, and I feel like yall are family on here, just like my church I go to. It's wonderful to meet on here, share info, stories, etc. I am more of a reader than a t.v. fan so this is really good therapy for me.
Hope all of you having fun. The last two nites a big possum has raided the outside patio getting pet food, and I have a pellet pistol waiting on him. He is pretty wily, as soon as I get the back door open, he makes a mad dash and gets away. Going to have to come up with a game plan to nail him, I reckon.
