OT I'm a low life
« on: October 15, 2010, 04:17:11 AM »
After all our moaning over the Silverado ads here, I swore I'd buy a Toyota first......well, I confess....I bought a loaded, immaculate 2007 Silverado 4X4 last week........You guys can chuck me out of the forum if you want :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(  The ads were of no influence.  The truck was super clean and the price was excellent.

It must have been the ads, a long period of repeated subliminal messages. Maybe we're being hit with an auditory sound, just below the hearing level..

Good luck with yer new to you truck,,I hope ya get many years an many miles,, I got 205K on my S-10, an she's still a good clean truck,.   ;)  ;D

Yup, that's why I sold my Chevy Trailblazer(which I liked a lot  ;)) and bought a Toyota Rav4(which I like even more  ;D), it's a bit more economical and does everything I need it to do.

Them ads didn't work none on me.  I bought a FORD!  I likes me my new F150 Super Crew 4x4.  But I drive my 98 Mazda 4x4 to work most days.  I let the Ford sit.  No sense putting miles on it when I have something else that still runs good.  Yeah, I know... then why did you need a F150 if you already had a pickup, right?  Well, that little Mazda can't hardly budge my stock trailer much less with anything in it.   My old Suburban 4x4 ain't good for towing right now.  It needs some serious TLC.  Got me a VW Jetta too.  Not a bit of brand loyalty here.  I was thinking the other day about the different brands I have had.  Here's the list I came up with.

Ford (3)
Chevy (8)
Mercury (1)
Honda (2)
VW (4)
Isuzu (1)
Opel (1)
BMW (1)
Mazda (2)
Buick (1)
Chrysler (1)
Datsun (1)
Nissan (1)

I need to work on that list... Need a Dodge, a Caddy, some more euro brands too.  I better go back overseas...

Ain't throwin ya outta nowhere Pete.  I just traded in an 03 GMC with less than 60,000 and EVERYTHING available that year.  It was sweet, but momma wanted to trade her 89 vette for something else and needed the truck to make the check not so big that went with them.  Still have my 04 Silverado diesel for my main truck.  DP

Just made a trade for a '47 CJ2A, in original condition, with a "pickup bed full" of NOS parts, and the original equipment non-directional Goodyears mounted.
All I gotta do is get from Idaho to Michigan and back to pick the thing up.  Maybe a project for next spring.
That old rig has generated more excitement than anything else in my yard, except for the 69 Mustang that just rolled in and took up residence..............

I watch the outdoor channel once in a while and used to watch the Michael Waddell shows if they were on but ever since those ads started running I click his show off immediately if it comes on.  :P

I still hate the GM ads and pop-ups, they are really infuriating and really have turned me against GM products, that plus them taking the Govt money.
My son just bought a Toyota Tundra yesterday, good news for he and I both. He has been using my Dodge Ram since he sold his older Toyota SR5 and now I will get my pickup back. My Dodge has been great to me (and my son) but I would like to sell it and/or trade in it towards another Toyota. I had a Toyote before the Dodge and thought I wanted something bigger. A big truck is nice but I now an thinking of a Toyota Tacoma or even a Nissan Frontier. Something 4 wheel drive with four doors and a small bed, heck, I might even buy a Dodge Dakota, but NOT a GM....<><....:)

I got a F-350 Super Crew Duelly Diesel for taking trips.  Have a Chevy S-10 Extended Cab ZR-2 for running around town.  Just finished a 448 mile round trip to Anchorage.  Took the S-10, for a change.  It sat on 80mph all the way back today.  I was impressed, that the RPM stayed below 2500 at 80.  Going down I sat at 65mph all the way, followed a friend with a trailer.  Need to check the milage and see how much the differance was between the 65 and 80 mph trips.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

GM didn't take Government money, they took YOUR money!  Okay, in this day and age, it's probably borrowed Chinese cash, which may even be more infuriating.......
