Did a little shooting Saturday.

Took the newest Winchester 94 out today and did a little shooting. It was a fun day. Not too hot and just very enjoyable. The rifle was shooting a good bit to the left but I didnt want to adjust it any because I cheaped on the ammo. I dont reload for the 30-30 yet so I bought the cheap Monarch stuff. I want to try some good ammo before I make any adjustments.

Dont really know. Its the newest one that I have gotten. Just picked it up last week. Its not too old. It was made in 1979 which is the same year I was born so that is neat for me.

No, that is not a crack. I had to go take the rifle out of the safe just to make sure. Just a line in the stock.

Yes, the other is an older Rossi 92 in .357

Did'nt mean to scare you about the crack, I'v got two of the rossi a 454 and 44 mag. the 357 is the next one I would like to get.

wh:  now that's the way to have fun and thanks for giving me a good idea of how to have more fun with my 30-30s.  I have two - a 1926 or 27 made WCF (30-30) and a 1975 mde 30-30.  I used to shoot a hanging clay pigeons but since getting older I find the front sight bead completely obscures the 4" clay pigeon at 100 yds - now this doesn't mean that I won't be able to hit it after a few tries and clay pigeons bust up nicely when hit, but I like your idea of using bowling pins - they don't bust up so quickly and you know when they are hit. 

Your Rossi 357 and mine are identical and what a hoot to shoot.  Thanks for the post.

I love shooting bowling pins. They hold lots of lead depending on what you are shooting them with. Sometimes all you can see on the pin is a small circle that looks almost like someone made a dot with a marker. The plastic closes back up and the wood underneath takes in the bullet well. Get some if you can find them. They are a hoot to shoot.
