12 ga full choke 3 1/2" chamber?
« on: October 18, 2010, 10:45:44 PM »
 Guys
I was in a local shop last weekend. He had a 12 ga full choke 3 1/2" chamber, with plastic stock set. What in world would use that for? The barrel was not long(I didn't measure it), so I am guessing it is not for Geese. Would it be a Turkey set up? Why would it have plastic and not wood?
I can only imagine the recoil would be massive :o

Just curious what someone would use it for.

I had one of those, it patterned better than any shotgun I've ever owned with 3 1/2" loads but also recoiled worse than anything I've ever felt.

Thanks guys, was just curious. Just could not get it in my head shooting that combonation. My shoulder does not like recoil at all. I flinched when I seen it :D

i've got one the stock should be camo wood. I've only shot 3" out of mine its not to bad when you leave the weight in the stock. its a pretty nice gun actualy

Mines been cut and tapped for choke tubes as well.  Works wonders with big steel shotloads out of the 3 1/2 shells.

I've got the Turkey Federation one in full choke and its a real beast with the 3 1/2" turkey load or the 3" slug. The geese climb higher when they fly over my place too.   ;D
I'm not that recoil sensative, but I grip it real good. Usually you can pick them up cheap, because folks forget that you can shoot 2 3/4" stuff in it too.
