I like the factory 405 grain JSP from Remington in the 45-70 at 1330 fps.
But I'd like to bump the velocity up maybe 10% to 15% up to about 1500 fps, using Reloder 7, and the same Remington 405 gr. bullet. Using a 22 inch barrel.
None of the data I have matches that result and I even see some conflicting data on the velocity from 40 grains. And those usually show 400 grain jacketed bullets.
Can you guys refresh me on the Reloder 7 loads that will get me near the 1500fps with this Rem 405 gr. JSP?
Do you think the increased recoil will be substantial over the factory load?
AND... how would you adjust that load to keep the same 1500fps if I move to a WIN magnum primer?
Thanks!
