« on: October 19, 2010, 10:48:02 AM »
Hello all,

I have 2 Hornady 366 loaders that need to be rebuilt.  Does anyone know where i can send these 2 presses to be rebuilt? Is there a rebuild kit that i can buy?

I have sent Hornady 2 emails with no reply....any help would be greatly appreciated ;D

When I rebuild mine, I just ordered the part from Midway or someone like that and did it myself. They are a very simple machine to work on.  Have you check your local Hornady dealer?

Hello Moose,

I did not try a local dealer....just sent Hornady emails.  I have since come accross a phone number to call.

I'am kinda new to the shotgun shell loading, load lots of rifle and pistol. I was given both presses and some parts are missing from both and without much knowledge of the press i thought it might be better to have someone more knowledgeable than me fix it right the first time instead of me fumbling through 2 or 3 times. 1 time and done so to speak.

thanks for the reply!

I realize this is a 'late reply.'

Have you considered finding a third DL-366 to cannibalize for parts?

Plus after disassembling those presses, they can be repainted - even BETTER than when new!

I'm in the process of refurbishing 4 DL-266's
and 3 DL-105's.

The local NAPA auto parts store is able to sand-blast the aluminum parts without damaging them, for a fairly reasonable fee too.  Beats the heck outta trying to "sand" everything!

Cougar,

both presses are working great, loaded up a few and shot them at some paper....didn't see any difference between the reloads and factory....sat down with some free time on my hands on a very cold Saturday morning and nobody around to bother me and...........lots of empty boxes became full again!!!!!!

Hats off to Hornady, they did me good for under $100 for both presses.

For parts that don't have a tolerance issue i like to use a 50/50 solution of muriatic acid and water,  let it sit for a few hours...cleans the old  rusted stuff like new.  Just be quick to neutralize the part and wipe dry or wipe with oil or it will rust up again quick.
