what shootall said! I dont see anyting swampy said that was incorrect and it totally agree with shootalls assesment of the newer remingtons.
Swampman only posted the truth . And yes Remington has put out some less than stellar products if you compare to top line products , but then they also put out some top line stuff also. Its what buyers are buying. If you want a top line rifle then get into their top line ones not the less expensive ones.

And good idea the M-70  ;)

Yep , Remington in this case !

BTW , if sound gun handling pratices were being employed then the accidental firings would have not been a problem . The police sniper sent his down range. The others DID NOT HAVE MUZZLE CONTROL .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

This thread is not going to change anyone's opinion.  There are those who think there was a problem with Remington triggers, and those that don't.  It's as simple as that.

There are those who think there was a problem with Remington triggers,

The ones that are wrong

and those that don't.

The ones that are right.

Swampy,

You give me a headache....Like watching the TV test pattern..  ::)

Say did you ever buy that Remington 541 you said you wanted? I hear they are really good shooters.

I've posted on this before. To be honest about my experience that I posted-it was proven again last week. I brought a friend's Remm 700 SS 7mm Mag to my gunsmith because the trigger pull was off the scale on my gauge! Gun was  1 season old, zero'd but never used due to crappy trigger. G-Smith took it apart and it was gunked up with sticky  congealed oil from the factory! All he did was disassemble it, run it thru the parts cleaner tank put it back together and the pull was 8# less! I minor screw tweak and a drop of locktite and he was done, a safe let off, won't go out of whack.

I do that all the time.  If folks would just adjust the weight screw, everything would be fine.

i dont think the sun sets on remmy, but i know the liberal backround of cnbc/nbc and know what they are about.they have a agenda folks....my dad told me years ago about the trigger thing i believe he said the ones he seen were unquallified people messing with them. can there be some duds? sure it is mass produced. i would think if it was that bad the 700 wouldnt be selling now. the 700 action has been a rock solid firearm for years. this being said i have a model 7 in 243 that is accurate as heck bought new in 2004. however my last 2 new purchases have been a savage for me i now prefer them so i am not representing remmy just pointing out facts.
