Fired by NPR in which our tax paid dollars are the only reason that liberal dribble is on the air. It's interesting that "our" radio network has a policy against free speach. I heard what he said, nothing incorrect there at all.

Juan Williams described his experiences with one of the really large Tea Party rallies in Washington DC when he was on Fox News one night discussing the issue of "racism" in the Tea Party.

Williams said white people approached him, said how much much they enjoyed watching him on Fox News and asked for his autograph.

Lyndon Johnson started NPR as he needed to get his liberal New Deal BS out to the masses. This left wing station help force thru the horrible 1968 gun laws and establish the BATF from the old Alcohol Tax Div. The interesting thing about all this is Black Americans. The Black Americans have been able to skate passed the Politically correct agenda for years. They have been able to use the dreaded "N" word call whites Crackers Etc. the leberals gave them a free pass. Now the left has cast out the blacks and the Jews to favor the Moslums. It seems Jaun Williams is the first to go on the cross as the left takes on a new playmate. It will be interesting to see this play out. NPR a tax supported left wing media station that also recives major funding from Geo. Sorroes. NPR is not needed and should be closed down if it cannot make it on its own.

I hate NPR. My wife listens to a music program hosted by Jonathan Schwartz. He plays music for people so old, they should be dead already. Can't stand it. Also NPR is constantly begging for money from listeners. Hopefully they go out of business tomorrow, I'd prefer listening to white noise.

Williams is a total liberal, but I like and respect him. He speaks from the heart, and when he expresses a personal opinion, he makes it clear that it is just his opinion and not some immutable truth of the universe. He will often pause during his t.v. discourses and acknowledge to his conservative collegues that they have made a good point.

It is wonderfully ironic that the liberal left, which created the entire concept of political correctness, has now sacked one of the most liberal and respected commentators in the country, for expressing a personal opinion, which didin't match their concept of political correctness. Conservatives and liberals alike are outraged at this, and when the Republicans retake control of Congress this Fall, they will yank the federal funding of NPR.

Just my thoughts.

Williams is just the last of several who made the mistake of telling the truth in a public forum and angered some group just looking for an excuse to holler "bigot" whether it's true or not.

I like NPR, which will put me in the minority here. They have some great programming. That said... I think they screwed the pooch on this one. Every once in a while that "we're smarter, we're above the fray, we're special!" attitude comes out, and it certainly did in firing Juan Williams. And the ostensible reason - what he said? - is BS. I heard what he said, read the transcript... nothing to get panties in a wad over.

I like NPR and PBS. I can't stand Fox News, but I watch occasionally. I listen to Morning Edition on NPR every morning and Prairie Home Companion on Saturdays. They are great programs. The American Experience is a wonderful PBS program. I like the fact that there is no advertising and that I just have to deal with pledge week a few weeks a year. That said, unless there were other employee issues, they were wrong in firing Juan Williams

If you think liberals are open minded? Jaun was fired for "Hanging out with the wrong people"? This is a government supported radio station getting half a billion a year from American taxpayers. Jaun was fired the same day that Left Wing leader Geo. Sorroes gave NPR over a million bucks. Does anyone see a connection to big bucks and NPR? The thing that bothers me most about NPR is not that they are there, it's that I have to pay out of my paycheck to keep them there.
Why is it that the left wing makes the right wing pay for their stuff, but not usually the other way around? How many right wing radio stations
are using tax payer money per a law in congress that allows it? Bottom line is, fox and other like stations can at least feed itself, seems anything the left wing
owns, runs, or takes over goes bankrupt and needs some type of welfare to survive. "Everything" is not exagerating either. That is what bothers me. Can you imagine the outrage if the left had to pay for right wing stuff out of taxes and legislation? Americans are mad because the left wing thinks it is superior and has it's own rules, they are not fair in the least, they can't stand on their own two feet and feed themselves, they demand our money so they can even survive. The left wing blames everyone else for it's failures too. Give them both houses, the white house, the zars, they had it all and the republican party did not have the votes to block or stop anything at all....and they still screw up and blame the other party, even though nobody was in their way. They broke it good too.

If we just cut off all the tax money the left wing gets from the capitialism they hate, they would all be gone in a year. That would be fine with me.

Yes Jimster so true. The people who pursue this Liberal line of thinking are always takers. The problem is the takers are even with the givers. How long will it be that we cannot keep giving to these takers. One only needs to look at Europe. Europe has now gone broke for the most part. Look at Germany giving up on PC and multiculturel thinking. France has voted to cut back on liberal retirements etc. and is having terrible riots. The Liberals have done nothing but add waste and loss of jobs and expanded a war they were going to end. The Green movement socialist word for killing free enterprise has run all of our jobs off shore. They have caused the price of fuel and food products to rise out of sight. They don't care however as they draw food stamps and free rent and are not bothered by such small issues.

A great post Jimster. The Left has been generously funded with tax dollars for decades. We need to raise this issue and to try to stop it.

that is, of course, something you can assure. I'm probably not a liberal, at least not yet - they wouldn't claim me, and I've never voted for a Democrat in my life - but you're definitely sounding like an ideologue. What kind? The worst - the kind that classified peeps into those they agree with/don't agree with, and... good vs. evil.
