Didn't know the 338 F came in the american eagle brand . Most of these rounds for rifle are full metal jacket . Sure it is not a typo ?

There is 338 fusion which is exceelent for deer

.
I am sure it is not a typo.
I ordered some form Cheaper Than Dirt for less than $17.00 a box.
They look like a hollow point with lead in the center.
I was curious tf any one else had tried them.

Mitchell,

Do you have experience with this ammo?

The description says for target practice and training - not for hunting.  Sometimes the manufacturer's description is meaningful sometimes it is not.

For example I'd never recommend using .243 ammo on deer that has a picture of a prairie dog on the box.

However, I have used the Federal Am. Eagle .357 soft points on deer with satisfactory results.  I've since moved on to something with less exposed lead for use in the lever actions.  That exposed nose gets beat to heck in the tube magazines.

Black Jaque Janaviac - Dat's who!

Hawken - the gun that made the west wild!

I haven'tused that ammo, as all I ever bought was the Fusion ammo and then reloaded it with 180 Accu-Bonds. But that sounds like a great price on 338 Federal ammo. I have never seen it that low. I might have to check it out.

I sighted in a custom mauser that I built with this ammo and I was shooting 3/4 inch groups at 100 yrds. I am happy with the way it shoots and the price.

My grandson and I each harvested a deer with this ammo.

Both deer went down in their tracks.

Small hole in large hole out.

Well that is good news . Concrads on the deer. ;D

One reason the 338 F has been a bit slow on sales is because of the price of ammo . If you reload it is not an issue as with the 358 .

I will watch for the Ammo to come to Canada.
