Shot my 6TCU carbine today

Shot my 6TCU carbine today. Used the big target fore end and hanger bar on it. This one's a 20" MGM bbl, I bought used off the classifieds here.

The best load was 27.6 grs of Win 748, Hornady 80 gr SSP, and Rem 7 1/2 primer:

That's 5 shots @ 100 yards. 4 into one hole, and one pulled off to the side. That 5 shot group went .504". The 4 shots without the pulled one went .093"!

If only I could shoot straight...

Thats one caliber i regret not getting.. What velocity is your load doing? Have you shot any water jugs or anything else to see how the bullets are expanding?

I have not chronographed the load. So far, I've only shot paper with this barrel. I was getting poor accuracy with several different loads, and wanted to try a different fore end to see if that made a difference. It did.

Now I'll start shopping for a "hunting" fore end to switch over to this barrel for javelina and coyotes.

A friend lent me his carbine barrel in 6x45. Super nice round to shoot in a little Contender Carbine! If I were buying a barrel I would get what you did, the TCU version. Can't imagine a nicer round, unless you are a .25 fan like me and have 'overlooked' a very good rimmed round for the T/C, the .25-35 Win! Even neater maybe, the Ackley Improved .25-35 Win.
Just thinkin' out loud.
