bhp mag release problem-solved.
« on: October 25, 2010, 04:23:16 AM »
After stripping and painting a fm90 frame i have, i put the mag release  back together and it works fine for a while. Then it starts only going in about half way, can't push it in flush with the frame. This of course means i can't put in a mag and worse i can't release the piece from the frame to fix it.

I know i can't be the only one to have this happen to, i really hope someone else has figured out a way to over come this problem. There aren't to many things worse than having a pistol sitting there and not being able to take it out and use it. Thanks for any thoughts on this, blue.

I'd bet the erlease is fouled with paint, either sprayed there or shaved into the works at re-assembly. A bit of acetone dripped into the release from the mag well should disolve the offending blockage. There is some access thru the mag well. Remember acetone is a powerful solvent and it gets on your paint the paont will melt....
