Omega or Triumph

So Ive been wanting an Omega for some time. With one of the kids in her Senior year, pictures, class trip, and stuff I have saved enough to start looking. A lot of the sales people are pushing the Triumphs, especially the "Bone Collectors". Sorry Mike, Im not paying more for your logo.

I really have my heart set on the Omega w/ weather shield, but is there any reason I should give the standard Triumph a more serious look?

I went to a CVA Optima after looking at both of the rifles you are looking at.

If I could only have one or the other, it would be Omega laminated thumbhole stainless. Which then again if I was going to get a TC I would get a ProHunter and have a rifle barrel, shotgun barrel, and muzzy barrel --- I would sale all my other guns and be happy with one!!!  ??? ??? ??? ???

That would be blasphemy and would make the wife way to happy!!!

Okay all jokes aside, TC makes a great product and I like the Omega's feel and look, but the Triumph is tough looking! Either rifle will serve you well!

I cant complain about my CVA Wolf, it really shoots well. I also like the Optimas and the Accura v2. Just want an American made black powder rifle.

the only real dofference between the omega and triumph is the action. One hinges, the other has a drop breech.  the barrels are the same.  The toughest part of the omega is putting a primer on it as compared to the triumph.   I have owned both and liked both.  I would take a close look at the new Tc impact also.

Get a Knight Disc Elite, you'll never look back.  This is from a dyed in the wool T/C owner of over 30 years and several different models!  I'm not knocking T/C one bit, they produce excellent quality firearms and their customer service is legendary.  Out of frustration with accuracy from a pair of Omega X-7's, (First one had a bulge in the barrel about half way down and shot 1"wide 16" tall groupas at one hundred.  The second one had a sloppy stock fit.  Bedding helped some, but the bore was huge and could never find a sabot/bullet combo that would shoot over 70 gr of powder), I found a new SS Disc XT on close out at a local dealer for under $200.  All I can say is I should have bought one years ago!  Sub MOA right out of the box with several different bullets and magnum charges.

The Omega is an awesome ML.  After borrowing a friends for the last two years, I finally bought my own.  This might help make up your mind.  I picked up a brand new in the box All Weather Z5 on GunBroker for $206.   8)

I have had the encore since they can out and it is a great rifle, it shoots good and easy to clean.I just got one of the new Triump Bone Collectors from Cabelas bargain cave this week and I got to shoot it today and it shoots just like my encore and the speed breech makes it a little easier to clean and it is lighter than the encore.I think you would like the Triump as far as paying Mike for the bone collector I like the bone collector stock better than the regular stock.

I shouldered the rifles you mentioned at a shop recently and was very impressed with how the Triumph (std model) fit and felt. Perfect comb height and balance, very light. But of course that's my opinion. It's nice that TC offers so many choices.

Why doesnt TC offer the Omega with  the Easy out breech plug? I would prefer it to the triumph.

the omega is a drop breech. It would be impossible to close the breech with the easy out plug as it would stick out too far.  It take 30 seconds with a ratchet to remove the plug.

One of the best parts of buying a T/C inline is all of them work, out of the box with BH209...

I have the Triumph, the light weight and true quick release breechplug sold the rifle, the awesome accuracy keeps in my hands.

You really can't go wrong with either rifle.
