HI all. A newbie here with a newbie question. I 've been trying loads of BP209 and saboted 250's in my Encore and getting some good results. Question is what do you guys do about static and powder sticking to the sides of your measure, dispensers, quickloads, etc.? It is more than a few pieces sometimes, probably not more than 1 or 2 of grains measure wise, but just aggravating to me that it is there. Trying to tap them out doesn't always result in what i was after as sometimes it starts to jump back up from the quickload tube and stick to the measure or I just make a mess. I am using a TC dispenser and measure and my quickload tubes are TC or generic. I can see why brass is popular but I like seeing what I'm doing. ???

Wipe out your measure with one of those fabric softner sheets used in a clothes dryer.  A used one works fine.

Yep.  Can wipe off the funnel, can spout also if you use them.  ;)

I have had the same problem with the BP209... but I thought it was me.

The static sheets work well but remember, this is muzzleloading not benchrest. 2 or 3 grandules of powder that is loaded by volume not weight will not make any difference on downrange performance.

blackhorn is a form of smokeless so it may matter with it.

I have also had good results at killing static by washing in mild soap detergent and just letting it dry, do not rinse.

If you read the jugs aren't all BP subs sold and shipped as a form of smokeless powder, not really new news at all.

All BP substitutes are measured and loaded by volume. Afew grains here or there will not make a noticable change in firing or impacts. Try it sometime but when you do let someone load for you so that it will be a "blind" experiment. Changing the patch/sabot thickness/size will have more of an impact on performance than a 2-3gr change in powder charge.
