Woot woot! We won one!
« on: November 02, 2010, 06:24:33 PM »
http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2010/nov/02/sc-voters-ok-constitutional-right-hunt-question/

One of the few propositions I cared about this round.  The right to hunt and fish is now an amendment to the SC constitution.  As stated, this was passed as a preemptive move against gun grabbers who might try to restrict hunting as a way to restrict arms.   Big win on this one!

We also got our Republican Governor (Nikki Haley) to replace Sanford, though that was pretty much expected.

MGM,

SC is the cradle of secession, and it is only fitting that this amendment stand to buttresss the 2A.  Congrats!!

Good for SC. obama planned to tax hunters and shooters out of business. maybe there's some hope that he's sucking wind now.

I heard Kansas had a ballot vote on the Constitutional right to own firearms. Don't know how it turned out yet though.

It passed with over 85% of the voters in favor.

Whoopie. Now we get to see how badly the republicans can botch things up again just a few years after they were kicked out. The only good thing I see about the national election is that gridlock is more likely, but I'm not counting on it.

The democrats only made things worse since the republicans got the heave-ho. Much worse in fact.

The simple fact of the matter is that the Republicans will have no power to really change anything. Gridlock is their only option as the democrats still control the senate and Obama still controls the veto. Seems to me gridlock is better than a bunch of liberal democrats cramming things we don't want down our throats.

The Dems have had congress for 4 years not 2.  The took over in the 2006 election.  That is when the spending started soaring.  Congress controls the money, not the prez.  President asks for and sets the agenda he wants.  Bush did not get what he wanted in 2007 and 2008 because congress was controled by the dems.

You like to spin things I see...so let me set the record straight on just how long the Dems had...

They have had control of Congress for approx 53 years out of the last 60....
And ever since the end of 2006....

The Dems have had a massive amount of time to break things and be in charge.

I'm not a rep...but why not give them another 40 years or so to even things out?

Might as well stop all the spin and use some fairness eh?
Biden has been around congress since I was born...you got what you got because of him, and people like him.  Might as well admit it...they had plenty of time, and were in control plenty of the time.

This is recorded history by the way....Dems being in charge for only two years is not recorded history, it's a lie.  And a pretty big one.

Be a man and admit it

The great thing is the Tea Party. This amazing grass roots movement defined this election by rejecting both parties and making a national issue out of holding politicians accountable.

Yes...they done good...REAL good.  No other third party have done nearly as well so fast...Tea Party must have grabbed a dozen seats in the house, and 2 or 3 in the Senate?  Not sure, but it was pretty amazing, they more than got their foot in the door...they got their foot up someone's behind...

They did very good, got to give them credit.

Excellent point jimster.

Problem is. obama knew it would happen. He got what he wanted, and plans to use this to get re-elected in 2012. If it wasn't so........ he would have backed off after the Mass. election when it was evident that people didn't want obama care!

It matters little which party is running the show  government can not fix the mess we are in.
The only good that the government can do is get out of the way and quit stealing our money so we the people can clean up the mess.
I'm not sure what some think we have won here but it is most definitely not a fix to the problems we face.

I like South Carolina - generous bag limits, long seasons, they piss off all the right people - but secession certainly isn't the state's brightest idea, if you can attribute it to them.
