No wonder this character never served...
« on: November 04, 2010, 05:03:21 AM »
Seeing this news article, it is no wonder this guy never served in the military. He's so afraid for his paper a _ s..that he wastes millions of dollars we don't have, just to proptect his hide...

   http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/34-warships-sent-from-us-for-obama-visit-64459

  BTW: Just last night I talked to my Marine grandson;
The last year of the Bush administration, our fighting men & women were given a 4.6% annual wage raise. This year congress suggested a 2% raise, which the Obama administration promptly cut to 1.2% !

How much was that raise congress just voted for itself..10%..wasn't it ?
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

What do you think would have been a more appropriate arrangement?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

How about a Ford Pinto, with a full tank of gas, and a 'Vote for O' bumper sticker?

I directed the question at IronGlow, Mr. Riddle, but since you're volunteered an answer... explain it? Beyond the obvious, that you'd like to see the President dead?

Mr Yellow,
Your assumption, that you say is obvious,,,was in no way what I was implying.  I don't follow your reasoning in saying that, but it's not the first time, I don't think I've ever followed any of your reasoning in any of your statements.  It was simply a 'reminicent' statement to the Carter recession, when you couldn't buy enough gas for a Pinto, many with 'vote for Carter' bumper stickers.  Yet he was unaffected by the hard times that everyone else was having to endure.

I think staying home sounds like a fine arangment.

From the sounds of some of our BO supporters here, (and I know our resident BO supporter will deny himeslf as that), they are zero liability voters, so no matter how much messiah Osama spends it does not effect them.

As far as seeing him dead, that will be Gods decision not mine, as I will have nothing to do with it,and I am not one to question Gods acts. Just like when God Voted against Paul Wellstone here in Minnesota.  ;D

He is being hypocritical by taking his whole family overseas and spending that much if it is for the country's business.  He is going to the G8 summit in Korea on the 11th.  I think he is vacationing in India and Indonesia before going to the G8 or G20 now.  Neither Bush or Clinton too their whole family.  It is costing $200,000,000 per day for this trip.  We don't have them money as a nation to do this.  Maybe congress should approve each presidents overseas trips, which might cut out families, since this is on the taxpayers dole.

Congressional approval would be a start. I do wonder if we the people are picking up the tab for the coorporate folks as well? One thing is sure though, if we spent as much money (that we didn't have) as our current gov't, we would be in jail.

All I see is an eletist, spoiled, high end welfare dweeb, that's sucked off the govt. teet all his adult life, and never had to work an honest day in his life. G.Bush, flew into a war zone, spent a day with the troops, gave them a raise in pay, and he, somehow, is the bad guy.
This welfare case, after the election on Tuesday, has seen the handwriting on the wall. Don't be surprised what the next 2 years are going to bring. He'll spend more money on himself and wifey-poo. Right now, he's just styl'in. gypsyman

The white house denys it will cost 2 million a day for the trip. When asked "well how much will it cost" they answered "we cant tell you due to security reasons!"  BS Flag on that,  Ten yard penalty and loss of down!  ::)

Shot a spike buck this morning - skin is off, and now the slicing/tossing into the cooler begins. Been a good morning. While dragging the deer out, shot a beaver, who inconsiderately sank. Are they edible? Someone told me their backstraps are tasty. They're definitely pests where I hunt... .

  OK Yellowtail,
He could have saved our suffering economy an estimated $200,000,000 per day by doing as Pres Bush did when he flew into a war zone..
Pres Bush made a surprise landing at Al Asad Marine air base..probably escorted in by a couple Marine jets and covered by a couple Marine helicopters. He certainly could not have made a "surprise landing" with 34 naval ships including a super aircraft carrier..oh yes Condolezza Rice flew in with him. ..And it was a surprise, my grandson was one of those combat Marines just in from the field..on board to welcome him.
Conde and Hillary as secy of state, fly all over the world..without peeing their pants for fear..but then , they're gutsy women.

Yahoo was still saying 200million a day and 870 hotel rooms reserved + an entourage of 2,000. Again I ask, what possible reason could he have to even go there????? Aside from putting us farther in debt. Operating 34 warships and personnel comes to big bucks, not to mention 40 planes and crews. No excuse for this. Let him pay for his own vacation with his wifeypoo and kiddies, in America, we need the money. HEH, Hukabee said he's actually spending less than if he was here. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

I admired Dubya's trip (I liked Dubya, voted for him twice. And I take your point, but here are a couple to consider:

1. This whole '$200,000,000/day and 34 warships!' bit is a hoax, I think, and...
2. President Obama is making scheduled, public visit as head of state, meeting with other heads of state, amongst other things... not the same kind of trip as Dubya made. Bush's priority wasn't to save money, it was to make a surprise visit so that the bad guys would have no heads-up he was coming. A more valid comparison would be similar trips made by President Bush or President Clinton, don't you think? I understand it wouldn't have the same ideological appeal - this story appeals to ideologues - but it would be more relevant.

Yahoo was still saying 200million a day and 870 hotel rooms reserved + an entourage of 2,000.
Really? So instead of $66,700/day/person, it's now up to... $100,000 per day, per person?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

$100,000 a day is easy with security measures.  How many secret service agents.  How many servants, White House staff members, limos, aircraft, fuel, pilots, etc.  It can easily add up.  I think on an official visit, he shouldn't be allowed to take his kids, and/or have limited exposure, servants and staff.  He is using this visit as a "partial vacation".  He will be visiting the Taj Mahal.  Just heard the most expensive overseas visit by any president up to this point was Bill Clintons visit to Africa which cost $45,000,000.  He didn't take as many people, nor his whole family.

This is the way to do it !   http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2007/09/bush_lands_in_iraq_surprise_st.html

Read the article; Pres Bush was on his way to a head-of-state visit to Australia for a Pacific Rim Conference. No C-in-C in my memory has ever travelled that exxtravagantly..nor has any previous first lady ever vacationed as extravagantly as Michelle's recent trip to Spain...it just points more to the idea that he intends to destroy our economy.
You said Bush's trip to Iraq/Australia was not to save money..do youi somehow believe that the Obama's recent trips to India and Spain, were "money-saving" trips ?
I see no reasonable excuse for the Obamas or their ways..

His hosts in India whose  security people have need of such information, claim that he is spending $200,000,000 of our tax money every day while he's there.
   http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/us-to-spend-200-mn-a-day-on-obama-s-mumbai-visit-64106

Two important answers to the question, " What do you think would have been a more apppropriate arrangement "?

   1) He claimed he aimed at the presidency..he should have served.

@) Save us the pain and money..Don't go to India..instead, make a conference call !
