Shot a spike buck this morning - skin is off, and now the slicing/tossing into the cooler begins. Been a good morning. While dragging the deer out, shot a beaver, who inconsiderately sank. Are they edible? Someone told me their backstraps are tasty. They're definitely pests where I hunt... .

Very edible, but in many states it is illegal to shoot a furbearer.

      Beavers are edible, especially the tails, which the mountain men relished. Billy is right, in most areas shooting beavers is illegal. They have been making a pest of themselves all up and down creeks where I live. They moved into my own woods, damming up a creek, flooding some of my woods and cutting down many sizeable trees...stil, I had to get a special permit to pop them.

Let us hope----I am not holding my breath as I type---that there is more serious business than just a vacation for all of the staff.
Why in the world are you folks ranting at anything BO does--we all agree that the only thought that he has is one that he is told to have.
God knows that I am not suprised---angered is a better choice of words---by anything BO does. He is the most unthinking President we have had since Carter.
Truman was the least informed when he took office---he being akin to a mushroom by FDR.
Truman did quickly adjust---better than ANY President taking office under those conditions---thought for hisownself and said "MY Decision" and stood up and took the flack.
Unabashadly---I liked Truman.
Blessings

Liked him, did you? Well... he was before my time. Are you an Old Guy, william?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

  OLD GUY ?
  Bill is so old;

  His birth certificate has the dates in Roman numerals

  ..But that doesn't matter, it's EXPIRED anyway.

 Jurassic Park brought back early hunting memories to him.

   ..and he co-wrote at least one of the Ten Commandments

  And when Moses accepted them, he figured he was providing a job for a senior citizen. ;) :D ;D

  OK Bill, you're free to return fire..to one of YOUR SENIORS... :D
