Wrinkled cases when resizing

Gents - I am just getting started reloading rifle cartridges.  Starting out with 45-70 for my H&R Buffalo Classic.  I have resized the cases, but a few of them have wrinkles about 1/4" long, and about .010" deep. 

Any idea what, if anything, I did wrong?  Is there anything wrong with using these cases?  I plan on using some mild loads, as these will only be used for target shooting at 100-200 yards.

What sizing lube are you using and how thick are you laying it on?

Using the RCBS case lube kit.  The lube that came in the kit is what I used.  The cases were pretty slippery.  Would too much lube cause this?  Are the cases OK to use? 

I am trying to take this reloading thing slowly, and don't want to make big mistakes.

Too much lube can cause the problem, as would too little.  I've also run into this with brittle cases that have been fired a number of times.  (They harden with use, and need to be annealed.)

Thanks for the info.  I must have had too much lube on the cases.  These are once fired cases, so I doubt it was caused by work hardening (brittle cases). 

I assume these cases are fine to use, and upon reloading them again, I'll take it easy with the lube.

Do the wrinkles run up & down the case or are they going around the case ?

Hoenady One Shot Case Lube is a wonderful product, if it is a lube issue.  Too much liquid lube dents because of hydrolics, but too little lube will make you, well......not happy

The wrinkles run up and down the case.  I'll try to attach a pic showing the wrinkle.

Too much lube , just load & shoot , the will iron out when fired .

I only have one 45-70 rifle so i decap with a lee universal decapper and expand the mouth with a universal expander then reload the brass.

Back in the USAF we had a definition of them thangs:  "X" was an unknown and/or "EX" was a  used to be, while  A "spert" was a drip under pressure!   Together, they signify an ......., oh well, never mind, but thanks anyway!
