Question on a Colt SAA
« on: November 05, 2010, 03:15:15 PM »
I've had this gun for 15 or more years, ( 125th Anniversery 45 LC) I think I paid about $450 for it.
It's been fired, some of the gold plating is worn off the trigger guard but the blueing is still deep and overall it's still in very nice shape.
I know most commemoratives don't hold their value, but it's still a 2nd. gen Colt. Any idea of it's worth ?

Nice looking Colt!  Any 2nd gen Colt is good working order is worth a $1000, give or take a little depending on condition.  Take it out and shoot it some more!  You won't hurt it and you can get some good enjoyment from it.  44 Man

Jbmi, I don't know exactly what your Colt is worth. What I do know is, in the mid 60s I sold a 5-1/2" Colt SAA & have been sorry every since. I'd think long & hard before I sold that Colt. I'd take it out & use it. You will have a great time & as long as you don't abuse it, a little shooting & normal wear won't take much away from it's value unless it's  really hot collectable. I'd enjoy it.
