P P mold

Where are some good places to get a 30 cal P P mold at a lower price... I saw were someone made one from a lee 7mm  mold  .....  what is the best way to start?      Or it can't be done for cheep?

Try Veral, two doors up from this forum  If he can't put one together to your specs, you're out of luck because it can't be done.

I do belive that Veral  could make near   the best mold .......
   But that is not a low cost way to try and see how I like to P P   ...
 On the other hand  maybe there isn't a low cost way to start...

 Is there a place that sales .301 bullets?    Thanks Dan

Buy the Lee .30 cal mould closest to the shape and weight you want. Paper patch the resulting bullets, Run 'em through the Lee size die of the diameter you want. Cheapest way I can imagine. Works too.

OK   - it did work,,,  I belled the case a little and it pushed in and looks good..... thanks  I'll try shooting  them soon.... Dan

I found some lyman bullets that worked   -- cast smaller.. I didn't shot them at any kindof high speed     ---- but    ---- I have now shot paper pach bullets    thanks   Dan

Over the years I have had and sold 7 or 8 smooth sided PP moulds. I have better luck with a grooved bullet. If you can find one a Lyman 301618 or 301620 would be perfect. I use standard moulds and size down in a push through die before patching. The grooves help hold the paper and a bit more lube, IMHO>
