Deer Passes All The Way Through Car After Being Hit

I have never hit a deer in all my years of dodging them. I did have one run into the side of the church bus I was driving once. The kids were bummed out about it.

These folks weren't so lucky. After a deer was hit by an approaching car, it flew into the oncomming cars windshield and clear through and out the back.

I've only had to dodge a couple in my life, knock on wood, but the last one was on a mission to destroy my truck.
He probably should of thought otherwise. Truck weighs close to 5 tons and the deer mabye a buck fifty.
Broke my headlight and bounced completely off the road doing a couple 360's.

Been a while since I hit one (about 11 years actually), but I swear they're rampant around here.  One night I was on my way back from town rather than (little after midnight) and I counted over 25 of them beside the road.  Not a big herd either - a few at a time the whole way home.  Every time I see one I get nervous.  Like I said it's been years since I hit one, but that one in particular did over $2,000 worth of damage to my car :(.

I hit one in my jeep a few years ago. I was doing about 45mph. The collision threw the deer about 25 feet. I thought well at least I will have meat and started walking towards the "dead" deer. To my suprise the thing stood up a little shaky for a few seconds and then shook it off and took off like nothing ever happened. $5000 bucks in damage. I though for sure the insurance was going to total my 11 year old jeep but they fixed it.

Been lucky dodged all the Deer so far.  Not so lucky with Caribou.  I was towing a 21 ft boat with my Jeep CJ-8.  Caribou jumped out and I had no choice but hit it.  I was going 50 when it jumped out, I hit the brake and was able to slow down to about 30 when it made contact.  Front bumper, winch, and brush guard took the impact.  Bent the mounts on the brush guard, no other damage.  State Trooper was following close trying to read the USAF Rec Services plate on the trailer.  He rearended the boat, putting the outboard through his grill and hood.  Caribou got up, but had a broken leg.  Trooper shot it, thought he was going to shoot me for a minute.

Yeah that is a local story here. I been down that road a million times. about 30 years ago a guy was decapitated by a deer pretty close to this accident.

This is just the first time I ever heard of a deer, or whatever, flying completely through the vehicle. In one window and ot the other.
I have heard of them comming to rest inside the vehicle before.
That's a pretty big projectile! About 200lbs traveling fast enough to completely penatrate a small car.
