I have a TC Omega SS with laminated stock (Not TH). Anyway, was hunting from a ladder on Saturday evening, did not see anything except one small doe, and was lowering my gun from the stand with a rope. Just slightly after leaving the stand, the gun came loose from the rope and fell to the ground, about 10-12'. Bad knot, I guess. (Wasn't a boyscout
) Anyway the gun fell flat on the ground except for a 6" log that hit the stock at the pistol grip. Breaking the stock completely in two. Bad day.
Did call TC and the guy said to send it in and that I might get a new stock replacement. He was a little unclear on details but it sounded good. He said, "accidents happen and its got a lifetime warranty". Didn't do that, but did order a black Composite stock for the future.
I did "fix" the stock with some Devcon, many small holes, 2 pilots screws internally. It seems to be good, but will test fire it this afternoon. I will not be holding it close on that first shot just to be safe. I really want it useable for this Saturday and Monday.
Final word...... ALWAYS make a good knot when lowering things from your stand.
