Thank You to all the Veterans today!!!!

I would like to thank all of the veterans past and present for their service to our great country, and to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in order to preserve our rights may we never forget what they have done for us!

I think everyone knows where I stand on this one, but I will post it again.


That my two young sons may never have to know the horrors of war.

PR........What year did you go through jump school? I assume you jumped at Benning?

nw_hunter  I enlisted July '72, Jump School at Benning Oct '72 Then 101st Abn Div C-3-187 and recon Plt 3-187. Transfered to Italy with C-1-509 ABCT ETS'd in June '76. My last Platoon leader was a young 2nd LT named David Patraeus fresh outta west point.Also went to the German jump school in Schongau and have my German wings.  How many other old paratroopers we got here??

My brother was a TM2SS and served aboard the USS Drum SSN 677, he is a plankowner.

I am thankfull for the priveledge I had.  When did you go to jump school nw?

Just got back from enjoying a little moosemilk with my Canadian Forces detachment after a very nice Remembrance Day ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum. Running my chokers through the wash now to get ready for our 235th Marine Corps Birthday Ball in 3 hours, this year I'm not oldest present (praise God!) This'll be the 19th anniversary of a young LCpl Nelson proposing to his future wife ... several deployments and a purple heart later and she's still here, God is good!

I was with the 11th Air Assault Test unit at Harmony Hill in 1963.We were the original Air Assault and repelled only at that time. I never made it to Jump school. I mustered out before we merged with the 101st. I was stationed on main post, in the shadows of the towers in 1961 going to radio repair school.

Were the big U shaped barracks on the main post still standing when you were there? I have some fond memories of Benning..........Some not so fond lol!
