Years and years ago I bought a 14 1/2 in 38/40 with a paperbag half full of shells, along with a Savage 23 in 25-20 with another paperbag on shells. Both in clean but well used 75% condition. THey both didn't cost me 100$! They shot perfectly but in my ignorance I peddled the remmy for a song. I have never seen another I would spend the $$ on. The Savage is still a favorite!
I did get a beautiful Model 14 carbine in 35 Rem tho!!
Good luck with them!!! They look great!
