Does anybody have an interest in analyzing videos to determine projectile velocity?

I have done that once using ordinary speed video to get an order of magnitude estimate of bowling ball velocity.  It's better than nothing but I doubt it is more than a couple of significant figures in accuracy.  The problem I see is that the projectile is hard to see if the distance over which it is visible is very great.
