T/C barrel warranty?

I purchased a Rifle barrel [23"] in 17 Mach II on Gunbroker. Barrel looked new in box with no use marks at all. It was tested today at 50' indoor range and shot 1" groups! Inspection of the muzzle shows reamer marks, fairly deep in the rifling about 1/16" inside, obvioiusly a factory defect. I could cut back and properly crown on a lathe but then the barrel would be 'modified'.
I plan on contacting T/C about it before I do anything. What in your experience will they do?

My experience is that they will replace the barrel if they made the mistake.  Even if they haven't chances are good you will have a new barrel.

I have a problem with one of their stocks that was not and should not be their problem, I explained that it was not their problem they said they would replace it any way but every time someone has a problem they step up and fix it, you dont get that kind of service with most companys Today

T/C has my vote for vendor of the year. They replaced my Benchmark Classic
with a new one. They told me up front that it would take some time and it did
because of workload. They are a stand-up company loacted here in the USA!

I had two bad barrels in a year (.22LR ProHunter and .500 S&W pistol).  Both had some marks in them from the factory.  Both were replaced no problem under warranty, except for the .22LR was backordered for a while.  I have no complaints with TC's excellent customer service.

Well I emailed T/C on Monday and have not had a response yet. Might try to call them today.
