Today at 2pm President Obama, as Commander in Chief, will present the Medal of Honor to SSGT Salvatore Giunta.

He indeed should be proud of his achievement and seems to be a very humble man. Too bad he can't receive it from an American. That medal is tarnished just by bo touching it. POWDERMAN.

There is a political process to decide who gets a medal. Enlisted men usably get purple hearts and occasional bronze star, the big medals are more often to go to officers. They put each other up for them, it a career move thing.
My guess is Obama wants to have a Latino MOH winner to help move his emigration reform.

I must admit Beerbelly and Powderman are persistent in never giving our elected president of the USA whom is an American a break or any respect for that matter. Guys, pull your heads out and smell the roses when they do present themselves.

That's a hard thing to ask, Guzzi... to do as you say requires one to set aside prejudices & ideology and actually think, which probably more than BB or PowderPuff are capable of, certainly more than they've been willing to do. We all have our limits, and for PowderPuff & BB, thinking objectively is apparently off-limits.

Classy comes to mind. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised that a MOH winner is respectful of the President... but one can't help but notice the big contrast to some of the dunderhead internet tough guys spreading their stink around here.

well junior. With bos history of disdain and hatred of the United States military I just think it's a shame to see him disgrace that brave young man with his presence. I felt the same way when klinton laid a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. They are both a disgrace to real Americans. That young man at least deserves to get his medal from an American, not an illegal kenyan. POWDERMAN.

SSG Guinta like many infantrymen had a tough job to do that day. His actions were seen as warranting reward by someone(s) in his chain of command and the Congressional review board concured. The Airborne has, as part of their heritage and warrior lifestyle a saying that is "All The Way". The enlisted when saluting their officers, greet them with that and the officers respond with "Airborne". All the way, is the lifestyle of the Airborne. No mission or task to be left undone or half assed, but done "All The Way".

Nice how the race card got thrown in there. Wether The SSG was brown,black,white, or yellow has nothing to do with his actions that day. His actions to help and assist his Airborne Brothers was nothing short of a paratrooper insuring that his aspect of the mission was done to the upmost of his ability. In short "All The Way".

SSG Guinta is a proud American warrior who probably believes he did nothing exemplory that day, but just did his job "All The Way"

I believe I read where he is of Italian decent.

Regardless of that, he seems to be a fine level headed young man who deserves this honor.

I am waiting for you, the ... and other republicans to figure it out. If Obama was not legal to be president it would have been clearly confirmed before he was even elected. As badly as you all want him out of office the republicans would have spent whatever it would have taken to investigate it and prove it and they have not been able to do so. No one could cover their tracks that well, especially when in a public office.
