I killed a few bucks with my .450 Guide Gun with XS Ghost Ring peeps, but the rifle is so accurate, it really needed a scope. I chose a Leupold 1x-4x in Warne Rings and have been very satisfied.

I have a Skinner Peep on my Guide Gun, and my 336 30-30. I may put a scout set-up with a Leupold scope and quick detach rings on my 336 to see how I like it. The Guide gun I will probably leave alone because that is my thick cover bear gun while doing drives.

I ended up trying the Leatherwood 2-7 scout scope, so far I like it. I just hope it holds to loads in the heavier end of the spectrum.

One of my pet scopes is an older Redfield 2 3/4 Widefield . It worked great off the bench but twice while shooting in odd positions in the field it has bitten me. I think it is gonna get replaced by a 1.5-5 Leupy.

I'm no fan of scopes on lever guns, but the scout mount looks pretty cool.

Simplicity....What mount did you use for your set-up?

My set up is the XS rail+sights I found the kit at cabelas rail plus sights for $80. For rings I'm using Leupold low quick release. This is my first scout scope setup, so far I really like it. Like I stated earlier I really hope this leather wood holds up. I just finished setting i up a couple days ago, so I haven't been to the range with it yet.
