Republican Andy Harris, who during the election won the endorsement of the anti-"Obamacare" 60 Plus Association, is part of a freshman class of Republicans ushered into office after campaigning hard against the Democrats' health care reforms.
After running against President Obama's health care overhaul he raised eyebrows on Capitol Hill Monday by inquiring about the status of his own government-provided health care  during yesterday's freshman orientation when he learned he would not receive his government-subsidized health care coverage until Feb. 1, a month after he is sworn into office.

He stood up and asked the two ladies who were answering questions  -"Why it had to take so long and what was he suppose to do without 28 days of health care," "This is the only employer I've ever worked for where you don't get coverage the first day you are employed."

Hmmmm... so let's recap...
Run against govt subsidized healthcare before being elected. Complain you don't get it fast enough after you get elected.
Hypocrisy at it's best .

Same ol same ol status quo ..he should go far in his new career.
Meet the new Boss ... Same as the old Boss......

One thing this new Freshman should also note (if he can pull himself out of his own self-centered selfish world)

74 percent of hired American workers with employer-sponsored health benefits usually have a  waiting period of 3 months or more, according to a 2010 survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research & Educational Trust.

Heck, scooter he just wants what every new employee wants, his benefits! and insurance coverage. He didn't make the system , he just got there. lets reserve judgement after he gets his feet on the ground. Maybe he'll propose legislation to get the same health coverage we are gonna get ya think?

Someone needs to remind him he's not officially employed until he is sworn in......and even then he's on two year probation......

Sorry-hypocrisy at it's best is a democrat controlled congress stuffing obamacare down our throats and then passing a measure exempting themselves from it.

Seems like a reasonable question for Mr. Harris to ask - on jobs where I was W2 and had health bennies, they were setup upon getting hired, as I recall.

1099 now, so things are a diff story att...
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

He also went on to ask if he could buy Govt health care to cover the month gap   -  I had to laugh ...
Yeah you could have  -  it was called the public option !!!  You know what you railed against in your primary!!!!

It's just so funny , all these anti govt folks are now arriving in Washington only to find out OOPS ... now they are Govt.

Before new healthcare coverage passed, contractors who work for me through a 3rd party resource provider had to wait 60 days. Those with pre-existing conditions had to pay premiums for minimum of 6 months before they were provided heath care coverage.

Also , I want a better understanding from these new congressional leaders wanting repeal of the healthcare plan , how repeal will lower the deficit  -  where as the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). has published and reported the legislation that passed will save $138 billion over a 10-year period.

I'm absolutely open minded , but show the Americans the savings. That's what your there for.  Aand lets get the Job growth conversations started.  And I agree they are all on 2 year probation.
