TC Encore Slug Barrel (12 or 20 ga.) info needed
« on: November 16, 2010, 03:23:28 PM »
I am looking for any information on the TC Encore slug barrel(s). Do the barrels shot accurate ? Which gauge shoots better the 12 or 20 ?

I have a 20 ga slug barrle and have taken several deer with it. it is light and handy with little recoil.

I am using the remington copper solid slugs

I use a 12 gauge rifled slug barrel on my Encore. I put a calibrated scope on it and use inexpensive 1 ounce rifled slugs. Off the bench, I can hit a nickle at 75 yards! My scope is dead on to 125 yards,by using three levels of cross hairs. I am amazed at this set up. Just got it sighted in- so no deer yet but I am confident in this guns abilities. Also I am using a synthetic thumbhole stock and it points where you are looking. Yes, very accurate.
Hope this helps, Lastchanc54 8)

I have been looking at the numerous gun options for "slug guns". Because of the area I hunt a 80-100+ yard shot is most often the norm, I am still not sure what I should purchase. TC barrel or the Savage 220F (I have heard nothing but good about the 220f). I  Thank you for the information !

The good thing with the encore is if the 12 or 20 ga doesn't work for you, you can always trade for the other or someother barrel that will work for you.  Most of my shots are 50yards and the 20 ga works great but it will also work past 100 if I need it to and it will not kill my shoulder doing it
