American Drilling
« on: November 17, 2010, 04:44:14 AM »
I have an opportunity to buy a "Three Barrel Gun Co." drilling for a really decent price.  I know they are not as light and sleek as an European drilling, but Hey, they're American.  The 12 X 12 X 32-40 is appealing, as are some of the other older American cartridges.  I like the 9.3 X72 drilling I have, but presently find my Simson cape gun in 16 X 25-35 gets more use.  I guess I'm partial to the older American cartridges.  I reload for the 218 Bee, 32-20, 25-35, and find these fun.

So, just curious, any of you guys have a Three Barrel Gun Co. (or Hollenbeck) drilling?  If you do, what do you think of it quality wise, handling wise, etc.

No one into American drillings?  Love this site, just wish there was a broader base of members, or at least members willing to post and respond.

Drilling man, you ever own an American Drilling?

Thanks,
Mike

the Three Barrel Gun company gun is a very interesting drilling.  I looked at them but that is the extent of my experience.

Sorry, I dont think there is a lot of knowledge on these guns.  It appears to me a few collections of these guns became available recently.

Sorry Doug
