Hi everybody- I am kind of new over here to this topics board, I usually hang out in the NEF section and some reloading.... Anyway I wanted to share a picture from my MN deerstand. I also would like any of you to try to take a pic if your season is still going or just post one from a season ago when you were enjoying the view and getting some hunting in. I was having a cup of coffee as the sun was rising. (freezing and not seeing deer, but thats not the point of this thread....) Please share a pic showing what you see from your stand and what makes it special.

The distant lake was steaming and an eagle landed on the beaver house for a while, it was a great view.

Mine is a cheapo made by Ameristep. I bought it a couple years ago when I couldn't climb a tree any-longer.

I'm going to be upgrading to this one very soon!!

Those cheapos are very good at least for me.I admit you need something to rest the rifle on but my walking stick handles that.At 220# and 6'1" I have plenty of room

Its pretty much a standard fold up chair that's so common place today. I'm sure everyone reading has at least one. I'm an athletic build, 220# and 6 feet tall. I have plenty of room I can even stretch out my legs inside.

The cheapo IS fine, I just like the ghillie looking model as it softens the outline. That's what catches my eye when looking at the blind form a distance. I try to set iust up between some small trees and up against some debris or a large tree. You cannot see directly behind anyhow. Mine has screened windows, I have slits in them to shoot thru. A rest for the rifle isn't necessary as long as you have knees.

I agree- my Ameristep looked fine new except for kind of a shine to the fabric and after use in the sun it has a purple hue to it from uv rays.... The textured look would be an improvement.

C'mon guys post some more pics of your hunting terrain, what we had going was cool.

He is not hid very well and I told him the shirt had to go. At 92 he and I are just glad he is there at all. I'm buried back in the briars just staying close.

I hope Im still kicking at 92. If I am, Ill be out there for sure. Interesting to see everyones stand and blind spots. Ill see what I can find for pics of mine. Seeing those palms makes me smile, as I glance out the window at a foot of snow and -8 degrees.

Nice guys! I like the look of palm but I can see where the DRT shot is important on a hog in that kind of cover.... I know this is deer stand pics, but I have read some of your (Land_owner) posts in the hog hunt forum. Wow FL has some cover. Deernhog what state are you in? Thanks for the pics!

This is my deer stand in Northern Wisconsin. It is a dry lake bed surrounded by hardwoods.

Southeast Oklahoma near the small Amish community of Clarita. It was 77 degrees that afternoon just before a cold front and dropped to 36 degrees the next afternoon. Even at 92 he can still drive a tack with his old Glenfield 30-30, just harder to get him to where the deer are. 4-5 does had crossed there 3 afternoons in a row but not the afternnon I took him. Don't it figure.

When you were little he probably had to set up in a little different place than he maybe wanted to be able to bring you. I think its very cool how we take our kids and parents and it keeps us doing things together. It aways seems to be the group you are with that makes it worth coming back. I hunt by myself some days but having a kid or buddy along gives you a funner experience.
Here is a picture of the cottonwoods in the river bottom we hunt for Whitetail in MT Sorry it isn't from the stand or blind but by where I park. The cotton woods and russian olive are thick. It was when we were loading up at dusk.

Here is the sugarbeet field we set up on our last day in MT. Here in Northern MN we don't have turkeys all over, so it was fun to see these birds scratching around.

I never thought of that, you are right! We watched about 11 deer walk past all those bails you see in the far field behind the turkeys. We were in a blind made of small bails on the edge of a corn field overlooking the sugar beets. If we can get permission to hunt it again that would be a smart investment. Thanks for the idea.

I saw one of those advertised the other day on "The Crush" hunting TV show!! Looked VERY realistic!!

I have been hunting form ground blinds for a couple years now. I really like them!

Heck yes! Good stuff those two. I used to take my son with me (now he goes by himself). Seems deer are not so cautious when innocent eyes are staring down from a tree. A 6-point, doe and yearling came along, he waved at them. They took note, but didn't bolt and WENT BACK TO FEEDING. Man those days are burned into the Quality Time Memories.
