I am just guessing here but the difference may be that although Westboro's protests are very disgusting they are not endangering people as yelling fire could plus as disgusting as she is apparently Liz Phelps is a pretty good lawyer.

The protest all sorts of things, not just soldier's funerals.  They show up for every abortion and gay marriage related thing they can think of.  They protested my swearing in before the Kansas Supreme Court.  Several of us posed in front of some of their better signs.

They are a horrible, wretched, hate filled group posing as Christians.  Sadly, they are not alone in that.

It is obvious this poor Vet has emotional/mental problems from his injuries he received in the line of duty. That being said I hope this is a wakeup call the the Phelps bunch that they may have just got lucky this time and it is just a matter of time before they meet their judgment day and if I was in their shoes I would want that day to be a long, long way off. It appears that this Vet will receive plenty of legal help and financial support, and rightly so, to get out if this and to get the help he needs. The police had to do what they had to do at the time.
