What's behind the new air travel humiliations ?

Well here is the real kicker the way I see it.  The rest of us have to endure the inconvenience and embarrassment of being scanned and groped by strangers usually in front of more strangers all the while the people who are statistically the most likely to be terrorists get a free pass from all of this.   Just doesn't make sence to me.  But then not much our gooberment does makes sence to me.  Wounder what will happen the first time a bomber in a bedsheet blows themselves up at 35,000ft killing a plane full of innocence?  Do you think the PC crowd will shut up and sit down then?

Guess the next time I go home to visit family I will be driving.

How can you get to places like Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Japan, Germany from the west coast of the USA and Back in a week as part of your job? Those pilots that MUST fly those planes as you say are not flying empty planes!

Magooch has it right. "The underlying impetus for the latest security outrage is obviously an attempt to get ahead of the terrorists."

However, the PTB (Powers That Be) have found themselves on the wrong side of the PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) or OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) loop and the terrorists are in the lead leaving us to respond to their actions. 
Not knowing where or what to do but knowing they must to something they - the PTB - choose to punish things and the innocent (same as gun control). This insures that the terrorists will remain in front of the loop.


In one way this situation shows us to be not so bad.  The terrorists are forced to use methods that are small, inexpensive, and unlikely to show great success. Being eaten up by a duck.

We have been killing their brain trust.  On the down side they are exporting the operations to many small groups.  We are fighting a Hydra - cut off one head and it grows seven.  To kill a hydra you must destroy it's heart for it has no critical head.

Telecommute. Videoconference. Hire there. Outsource. As someone that used to be on a plane 3+ days a weeks, and used to have to fly to Chicago and Dallas for morning meetings and be back in NY for lunch meetings, I will tell you that there are options.

Research "Agenda 21" then take a look at how this has been adopted and implemented by the USDA. Now with that "conspiracy theory" in mind, piss off enough Americans into not flying and you now have restricted free movement!

These searches do not make a single person safer. This is Federal interference in private companies (Airlines) selling a product (Airfare) to supposedly free citizens. As these companies struggle more than the already are due to reduced air travel, watch for more nationalization of yet another industry. Times are rapidly changing and history is repeating!

Maybe all this will boost private jet sales again since they can avoid all this. That would be great for Wichita.
