Today (Sat. 11/20) is the opening day for the PA bear season. I hunt in central PA on state forest land. Had a spot picked out, on the edge of a swamp, about 1/2 mile down a forest road that is barred with a gate, and posted with "Road closed to vehicles signs". Its about an hour before first light, and I figure I'll get in, and let other hunters maybe drive something to me. I'm walking down this road when a pick up truck with 5 guys in it comes flying down it. I wave them over, and say "hey man, this road is closed to traffic". I wont say what the reply was, as this is a family site. Then they gunned it and sprayed me with dirt and mud. OK. I walk down to my intended stand, and get comfortable. About 30 minutes later, a guy comes in, from the direction the truck went, and sits down about 50 feet from me. I know he see's me. We are wearing orange. I put my hands up in a "what are you doing" sign, and he gives me the finger. OK. Figure I better leave before I loose my temper. Walk back out to the main road, and find they have used their truck to bust the barricade, and knock down the pole. Also a pile of breakfast sandwich wrappers and coffee cups that were not there when I hiked in. Picked up the garbage, went back to my truck, took out an old heavy, rusty chain, and wrapped it around two trees, blocking the entrance to the closed road. Secured it with a big old pad lock. I hope they have a cutting torch when they go to leave......
Cant stand slob hunters.
