The Brooks Golden Gun has been ZULUized !

Perfect combination of skills to produce a true collectible!  ZULU, noted for his museum quality skills, has ZULUized one of our favorite barrels.



This is our one inch bore, 24PDR; 13" long, machined from 3" stock, a truly hefty barrel, ZULUized! The barrel fitted to the ship's carriage is $975, the barrel fitted to the Garrison carriage is $925.  GBO members in the lower 48 have free delivery as usual. RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

Big carriages necessary for a beautiful 16 pound barrel, 3" diameter at the breech.  Threaded leveling screw on the ship's carriage.

I didn't shoot this one, but there is lots of GBO history from Tropico, El Caz and Rickk about the performance of this barrel. It has been on the Calendar several times.

I found a clip of a Brook's 1" gun being fired on YOU Tube.  The gun may belong to one of our members.  The ship's carriage is not one of mine.  I think the report is impressive. :o

Found this photo.  The wood is Tasmanian Black Wood.  I think that this was barrel #2.
ZULU you are a craftsman.  I admire your work and as well as your choice of granite.

That's real nice.  How many grains of powder did you use in the first clip?  Same in the second clip?  That is a very nice patina that has developed on the barrel. :o

 First blank shot was 125 grain and the second was about 150 grain tightly packed wax paper for wadding...
