I cannot understand why this is causing such an uproar. After implementing the craziest fiscal policies ever, redefining and essentially destroying bankruptcy law, weakening confidence in the dollar so much that it is now common for businesses to pay for products with gold, extending a goalless and unnecessary war in Afghanistan, giving Russia it's largest military victory ever, elevating favored unions that put a drag on American industrial competitiveness, succeeding in ending the careers of hundreds of senior members of the democrat party, maintaining a high level of economic uncertainty that has paralyzed growth and created an unemployment crisis, we are concerned that this administration is merely violating American taboos about personal space? Trivial! We should be outraged about the more important things.

  I suggest you get a copy of the US Constitution and study it, starting with the 4th article of the Bill of Rights.  Having just thrown off trhe yoke of autocratic rule, our nation's foundres knew of whence they spoke. They designed the Constitution for good and obvious reasons !
  Hardly has the Obama adminidtration invoked this breach of the 4th amendment..when he goes farther:

  If you don't want to submit..you can be fined and/or go to jail..

   Note; that doesn't mean if you want to refuse the search and still fly !  It means you cannot now refuse their search and go home !

   Shades of Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin...Added to all the Constitutional encroachments you listed above. Is the water getting hot ?

Well, since you put it that way, I retract my trivial remark and say that it's just one more example of outrageous stuff that we should all be rebelling about.

But I should add that the bill of rights is practically meaningless today. The fourth amendment has been ignored for decades, as have most of the other amendments. The constitution and the bill of rights are no longer worth the paper they are written on in terms of being functional documents. I literally cannot understand why there are "constitutional" challenges or arguments anymore because there is so  little relevance to the document now. We have allowed those rights and principles to be removed from practical application except in a few minor ways. Even the first and second amendments only hang on as discussion points because there are a couple of loudmouthed special interest groups making a living off of them.

The problem is not that the Constitution is wrong, it is that the Constitution is only as good as the ACLU, or our courts are.  One can wave the Constitution around all you like, but unless a court, or some group like the ACLU agrees with you, you're sunk.  And that's just the way it is.

However, in the case of air travel searches, you still have the right not to travel that way.

Simply put the TSA and Big Sis have no idea what else to do.  They have political blinders on and, to mix my metaphors, can't think past the ends of their noses.
