Scope set up 7600

Anyone use a Nikon Pro staff 3x9x40 on thier 7600? What rings are use using? I'm thinking High rings, if so could you get away with the 3x9x50. If I got to use high rings and have room left over might as well use the space.

If you are going to scope it, take the irons off.  The irons are too low for the high comb anyway (for most folks).  I always thought that a Redfield widefield in 3-9x would be perfect on one of these rifles, but there are lots of good scopes available to us now that will work fine.  The triggers on these generally need to be worked a bit because they can be long and gritty and since Remington has a bunch of lawyers designing rifles now so pull weights can be pretty stiff.  But the rifles themselves are capable of very good accuracy and follow up shots are quick and easy.  There is no ammo sensitivity like some of the autos can have.  You are probably going to fall in love with it if that has not already happened.

I have several 7600's with pro staff scopes and I use Warne removeable returne to zero rings and mounts. The med rings work fine.

i like the lower powered veriables,1.5x5,2x7 or maybe a compact 3x9 leupold. i can shoot with both eyes open at 2-3 power and that makes it very deadly on running game at close range along with the extra fast shots if you need them. for fun take a 14 inch tire and put a piece of  cardboard in it and roll it down a hill(do it safely) and invite your friend to shoot at it with their deer rifles, for that the pump is king. eastbank.

I use the standard leupold base and rings. They work great for a working gun. Keep scope as close to bore center as possible for those quick snap shots.  :)
