On another website I visit, a guy was talking about how great cold-brewed coffee is. "Pffff..... Okay" I thought. Prolly just the latest trend of the Starbucks loungers.
Reading about it further though, I found that it's been popular in other countries for decades. Coffee often gives me heartburn, and supposedly the cold-brewed stuff has a lot less acid. What the hey, I made a batch, following instructions I found at a coffee geek website.
These folks saying that cold-brewed coffee is superior to hot are not exaggerating. Had I not tried it myself, I never would have believed it. No bitterness, no heartburn and way better flavor.
You can make both hot and iced coffee using the cold-brewing method as a starting point, and it's a simple process requiring no special equipment (couple of containers and a filter are all you need).
