AA Magpro Powder

  I have just tried this in my model 70 7mm wsm and it was great. I have tried several other powders from imr, reloader and this was the best I have found groups went from inch and a half to well under a inch. The velocity was great also and this powder looks alot like win 296 very easy to meter. So if you have either a 7mm wsm or a 270 wsm you should try this stuff. I thought I would post this to help some others and get this powder out where it is easier to buy in the store so you wont have to order it hope this helps

The only thing I've found wrong with it is a lack of tested data for it in the rounds I own. They sent me a whole 8 pound jug of it for load testing and I do like it when I have data for it but last time I looked data for my rifles sure is limitd.

I think it should do well in .257 Whby if I had pressure tested data to use. When it works it works REALLY well giving often an extra 100 fps or more over other powders and most times excellent accuracy.

The following loads were worked up for a Browning Titanium Mountain Rifle with a 23" barrel chambered for the 300 WSM.

I tried Magpro in the 300 WSM with 180gr Nos Partition.  I found that after working up to the recommended max for both RL19 and Magpro (Max listed on Accurate website), I was getting a little over 100 fps more velocity with RL19 (at 1/2 grain below max listed on Alliant website).  Tried 3 different powders with the 180gr NPs and never could get the accy I was looking for.

Figured the 168gr Tipped TSX would do anything I would ever ask of the 300 WSM.   RL19 gave me the velocity and accuracy I was looking for right out of the chute.  This load has accounted for one elk and two mulies over the last couple of years.  The Ti Mtn Rifle is an absolute joy to carry in the mountains.

I wanted to use the remaining Magpro in the 300 Winchester Magnum but data wasn't listed on Accurate's website.  I emailed them and they provided me with the data I was looking for.

And so it goes in the wonderful world of reloading.

A week ago the wife and I was out shopping and we made the required sporting goods stop.  She pull out her shopping lisit and I pointed to the MagPro and told her that it was good for the 243 Winchester, the 270, and the 7MM Remington Magnum.  I told her a least two pounds.

I just might get it, that is how I got the .22 rifle, the range finder, and the Chrony.

I bought 8 lb of it for my 22-6mm, gun doen`t like it at all. It will through an even pattern, but there is no way to make it group with 80 gr. bullets. I tried it in my 6-284 and it`s putting 5,  107 gr bergers into just over .600 with little work up. Oh and GB, I didn`t have any data for eather of them when I started, but I`ve got it now.  AA has their loading data online, did you look there??
