I bought a NIB Winchester 94 Trapper AE .357 Mag today for $500. Did I pay too much? Also can anyone tell me when it was made? Serial #605xxxx

you didn,t pay to much. i have one in 30-30 with xxxx wood on it, and a 4x leupold scope on it. and i would not sell it for 500.00 with out the scope. eastbank.

It was made AFTER 1982 is all I could find.

I put a leupold 1.5x5 on mine. I bought it to go after blacktail deer in the timber & do some cheap plinking with .38 specials.

    Both of those leupolds are excellent.  I can also recommend one of the newer Weaver Classic K-4s.  Plenty of eye relief,  rugged and bright.

    Also, I highly recommend the Burris Z rings.

the winchesters tend to shoot lead easily and good vs the marlins.  That's worth something.  The 357's around here are all marlins, and they are used, and most of them are north of $500.  So, I will up the anty alittle since you will probably be unhappy. Just let me know how much.  Oh, I have a trapper in 44mag.  Donot underestimate their effective range.  100+ yds if you do your part. Junky little things.

Great. I plan on plinking with cheapo .38's & using 158gn JSP for deer in the timber.
