I am troubled to learn that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has placed the DREAM Act, S.3827, on the legislative calendar and is seeking a vote during the remaining days of the lame duck session. Not only will this bill put over 2.1 million illegal aliens on the path to citizenship, but it will also allow these same aliens to have in-state tuition benefit at our publicly funded state universities and will grant them access to federal student loans and work study programs.

I am opposed to the DREAM Act. At a time when many American families are making tough choices over whether or not they can afford the cost of higher education for their sons or daughters, we should not be using tax payer dollars to subsidize illegal immigrants in our schools.

Here are “Five Things” you need to know about the DREAM Act:
The DREAM Act is NOT limited to children, and it will be funded on the backs of hard working, law-abiding Americans.
The DREAM Act provides safe harbor for any alien, including criminals, from being removed or deported if they simply submit an application.
Estimates suggest that at least 2.1 million illegal aliens will be eligible for the DREAM Act amnesty. In reality, we have no idea how many illegal aliens will apply.
Illegal aliens will get in-state tuition benefits.
Current illegal aliens will get federal student loans, federal work study programs, and other forms of federal financial aid.
For these reasons, I will continue to oppose this legislation and will stand up and fight any form of amnesty for illegal aliens.

  Our politicos seem more intent to pass legislation that seem to help our demise instead of helping the problems at hand. Why is the destruction of our sovereignty so important to them? The elected blame each others party for the SS woes they are facing but keep loading up the "sysytem". They scream for more revenue, but continue to let our jobs go off shore and continue the destruction of the nations tax base. Unaccounted for amounts of taxpayers money poured into a questionable war in a region where 13th century thinking will defeat modern technology.  Are they desensitizing us for the creation of an "American Union"? Whos currency will be used? Will the peso take the dollars devalued place when in a bailout type payoff the gov't and coorporate america keep the dollars for themselves in a move that would mirror '01 Argentina? Not shouting conspiracy theory by any means, but.................
